I had gone one morning early and gotten gas in my car.
I took mother to town.
The one of the banks was open, and she had a check to cash.
We then went back home, when we got there my sister had called, telling us that her friend from Chiquita banana, had brought some chicken that the company had donated for those needing food.
We went to her house and started bagging chicken in freezer bags, that we were able to help pass out to other neighbors.
some complained that it was only chicken backs.
It's food people! Be thankful!
KC's boyfriend had made his way back home, he had been in Bay St. Louis, helping with the search and rescue, finding and loading the dead. He help until he got to the point that he couldn't stand it any longer, he said, that their skin was like taking a hold of hot cheese...
I think this guy and many other's like him need a really good pat on the back!
*hugs*
It has leaked out of the sheriff's station here in our town, that there was a truck load of supplies and food brought to that office inquiring where to take them to those in need.
The sheriff and some of the deputies got what they wanted out of it, and then told the volunteers, to take the truck load to the coast, that our city did not need help.
!!!
*shakes head*
Things like this make me very sad.
How dare they!
We may not have been totally wiped out, like the on coast cities, but how can a man, reach in and grab what he wants out, then send the help away from those who depend on his help...
